The Carolina Locos are powered by countless people who share the same goal...helping players develop while making sure they have fun along the way. From our board members and coaches to our specialty instructors and dedicated parents, so many people work behind the scenes to create a positive experience for every player and family in our organization. We truly appreciate everyone who helps keep the Locos moving forward and makes this such a special place for our kids to learn, grow, and build a love for the game. Below are just some of the people who help keep our organization chugging along.

Todd Herrick (Co-Founder/ VP Operations/ Assistant Coach)
Todd grew up in a baseball family, learning the game from his father, a former pitcher in the Giants and A’s organizations. He developed into an All-Conference outfielder in high school before continuing his playing career at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Todd later graduated from the University of Massachusetts and has spent his professional career in the sports industry.
Since 2000, Todd has been an integral part of Teamworks/Indoor Sports LLC, helping grow the company into a multi-faceted organization. As Director of Marketing, he oversees branding, promotions, and strategic initiatives across eight Teamworks Centers facilities, as well as Teamworks Sports Performance, Five Star Physical Therapy, Teamworks Adventure Camp, and TW Property Management.
With a passion for sports and a knack for building programs from the ground up, Todd brings both experience and vision to everything he’s involved in, from facility growth to player development initiatives.

Paul Schneider (Pitching/Hitting Instructor & 12U Head Coach)
Paul is a former professional pitcher and longtime coach who has devoted decades to developing young baseball talent. As a college standout at Western Michigan University (WMU), he left his mark as one of the top hitters in school history, ranking among the top-five in eight career offensive categories and holding the WMU career slugging percentage record.
After being drafted in 1982, Schneider pitched professionally from 1982–1988 across multiple minor-league clubs before retiring with a career ERA of 3.59. He then transitioned into coaching, returning to WMU as a pitching coach, where he helped lead the program to a conference championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Schneider’s coaching career also includes a successful long-term stint at Portage Central High School (Michigan), where he guided the program to a state championship in 2002 and amassed an impressive 259–55 record over his tenure. Known for blending professional-level pitching know-how with a proven track record of developing players, Paul brings deep experience, a strong foundation in mechanics, and a commitment to helping young athletes grow (on and off the field).

Donnie Veal (Pitching Instructor & 12U Assistant Coach)
Donnie is a former Major League pitcher and respected professional coach who has dedicated his post-playing career to developing pitchers at all levels. Drafted in the 2nd round by the Chicago Cubs, Veal went on to pitch in the big leagues for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, and Atlanta Braves, appearing in more than 100 MLB games.
After retiring as a player, Veal transitioned into coaching and quickly became one of the most trusted pitching instructors in professional baseball. Most notably for the Charlotte area, he served as the pitching coach for the Charlotte Knights (the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) where he worked directly with future MLB arms and oversaw day-to-day player development at the highest minor-league level.
Veal has since expanded his impact on the game through his current role as a scout with the San Francisco Giants, evaluating talent across the country and identifying future major-league prospects.
With a blend of MLB playing experience, advanced pitching knowledge, and professional scouting insight, Donnie brings a unique and valuable perspective to young pitchers looking to elevate their skills and understand what it takes to reach the next level.
